WHO WE ARE
The Hellas National Softball Team (HNST) is the official softball program sanctioned by the Hellenic Baseball and Softball Federation (HBSF). The HBSF is the authoritative governing body for softball, baseball, and Baseball5 in Greece and holds membership in the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe (WBSC Europe) and the Hellenic Olympic Committee.
The goal of the HNST is to compete internationally in WBSC sanctioned event each you and to secure a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games.
The HNST program was established in 1997 prior to the 2004 Athens Olympic. Since it's inception women's teams have competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics, WBSC European Championships in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2015, 2017, 2022, 2024, 2025, WBSC World Cup in 2006 and 2016, and in the Canada Cup in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The HNST is almost entirely funded by donations through our GoFundMe page.

OUR JOURNEY TO THE 2028 OLYMPIC GAMES
Embark on an epic Greek adventure alongside the esteemed Hellas National Softball Team (HNST) as we set sail on a quest to secure a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games. Similar to the legendary exploits of Odysseus in Homer's timeless tale, these dedicated athletes are fueled by their deep connection to their Greek heritage and unwavering commitment to represent their homeland on the world stage at the pinnacle of athletic competition - the Olympic Games.
Softball is relatively new in Greece with limited opportunities for athletes to compete at high levels. Most of the Greek softball players live in the United States, Canada, and Australia, and are highly competitive college athletes at top universities. In order to compete for Greece, these formidable Greek athletes delved into their ancestral roots, traced their family histories and obtained Greek citizenship to proudly don the blue and white colors of Greece. These Greek athletes will showcase their exceptional softball skills in European competitions and in doing so, will elevate Greece to prominence in the sport of softball.
The HBSF welcomed new Head Coach Chelsea Lisikatos to the HNST program at the end of 2025, first as the U22 coach and ultimately of the women's team in early 2026. Coach Chelsea was a four-time softball captain at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she graduated in 2015. She joined the HNST Women's Team in 2015 and has competed in over 12 tournaments for Greece. She as been the owner of the New York Nighthawks softball program since 2020.
The HNST staff also includes Pitching Coach Misty Jenkins, Offense Coach Nicholas Lisikatos, Defense Coach William Ortiz, Jr. and Athletic Trainer Nikoleta Baxevanakis.
