The Hellas National Softball Team is ready to keep its momentum rolling after a dominating 15‑0 win over Switzerland, as the squad faces a Wednesday doubleheader against France and Ukraine at the 2025 Women’s Softball European Championship.

Greece opens the day against France at 3:00 a.m. CT, followed by a matchup with Ukraine at 9:00 a.m. CT. Greece will look to continue its explosive offense, led by power hitters Georgia Chrisy Polydoros and Tselsi Nikol Lysikatos, while infield anchor Zoe Stavrou and pitcher Kasey Xenidis provide stability on defense.

France presents a strong early challenge with experienced pitching and aggressive baserunning, but Greece’s balanced lineup and momentum from previous matchups give the team confidence heading into the contest. Later, Ukraine brings its scrappy, opportunistic style, making pitching depth and in-game adjustments key for Greece in the second game.

Greece and France have a notable history in European softball competitions, particularly within the Women's Softball European Championship (WSECH) framework. Their encounters have been characterized by competitive play, reflecting the growth and development of the sport in both nations. In the 2022 WSECH held in Barcelona, Greece secured a 13–9 victory over France in a closely contested match. This win was part of Greece's impressive run, where they finished 7th out of 21 teams, marking a significant achievement in their international softball endeavors.

Ukraine will be the second opponent for Greece today in a rematch from last year. Both teams bring growing programs and a competitive edge to the field, setting the stage for an exciting and historic contest.

A sweep of the day’s doubleheader would set Greece up nicely in the group standings and showcase the team’s depth and versatility as it looks to make a deep run in the championship.

Fans can catch the action on WBSC Europe live streams and team Hellas social media as Greece looks to make a statement against Europe’s very competitive programs.
